  RP PREFERENCES    
I prefer to roleplay on Discord, and I'll gladly trade my username to you if asked! I will also roleplay in-game too. I usually write anywhere from one to three paragraphs depending on what's happening, but I can also do shorter dialogue roleplays, super flexible. I'm not uptight about lore and don't mind characters that bend it, I even have my own fancy world-building stuff going on. '-)Also, my character is only married to Estinien/Gaius in my personal canon, ignore my last name in-game (That tends to change cause I name change frequently, I have very little impulse control. o7 )

  Backstory    
Dimitri— or 'Dimi' is what he would prefer to be called as— is a humorous hunter hailing from beyond the lands of Dravania. He originates from a small village, a home to elusive wolfmen who are devoted to nurturing the star and its teeming life. As his people and the village he comes from serve as the fabricated setting for many a Coerthan fairytale, Dimitri merely states he’s of Dravania and naught else. Despite looking as young as he does, Dimitri is quite world weary for his age, and yet still wears a smile most of the time.As a young child, Dimitri was an outcast from the rest of the children his age. Being as overly enthusiastic as he was about his interests and poor at socializing, he scared most off with his otherwise annoying behavior. Dimitri also struggled controlling his excessive physical strength at a young age, and often broke other's belongings when he tried to play with them. His only friend for the longest time was his own twin sister, Yaya, who understood his struggles and often protected her 'younger' brother from bullies. As such, both of them grew up in a lonely childhood, which Dimitri hated. Yaya never seemed to mind, but Dimitri always blamed himself for everyone avoiding his sister.As he grew older, Dimitri spent most of his time training, hunting, and even gardening. He developed a talent for the hunting in particular and began to pursue it as an occupation in his older age. He particularly enjoyed the thrill of not only grappling with dangerous beasts, but studying them and their fascinating behavioral patterns. Upon learning that he could become a hunter scholar, Dimitri had become dead set on his future.He wanted to be an adventurer and see the world outside of his village while studying to become a hunter scholar. Seeing no cause to deny her son the possibility of a happier life outside of their home, his mother approved of his journey, and off Dimitri went at eighteen years old. After twelve years of traveling between Coerthas and the city states, he'd grown to become a hearty adventurer as well as a practiced huntsman hired by Clan Centurio in Ishgard, though he occasionally works for the Grand Companies as well.These days, Dimitri goes from place to place helping those in need by acquiring materials from beasts requested of him as well as assisting hunting parties in tracking and dispatching elite marks. He tends to work alone, but is still open to joining other hunters and mercenaries should they hire him. Many remark that his company is enjoyable, with his enthusiasm being infectious and him easily getting along with most people. Outside of hunting, Dimitri owns a small plot where he grows special flowers and herbs, even taking on caring for difficult plants if asked!

  Personality    
First impressions always ring hollow when it comes to Dimitri, for figuring out if the true him is speaking to you or not is always a gamble. Dimitri exhibits two personalities— or ‘masks’ as he himself commonly refers to them— one of which is wisecracking and mercurial while the other is genuine and melancholic. The reason for this altering of his personality is that he believes the true self that he is to be dour and tiresome to be around, and thus acts far more eccentric than he truthfully is so that people tolerate him. Most people don’t initially know what to look for in his act, but as one spends more time around him, consistencies and lack thereof begin to show.The fabricated Dimitri that someone is most likely to meet is the half that acts foolish and outrageous on purpose to appear more ‘disarming’ and delightful to be around. He is humorous, silly, and confident as a front. In his own mind, he is convinced that by acting like this, people will either like him more or be less afraid of him. He often forces a smile to keep anyone from suspecting something is wrong, making it difficult to differentiate between his genuine happiness and his facade.The true Dimitri is lonesome, closed off, sheepish, and downhearted. Convinced that the real him is unlovable and hideous, Dimitri rarely ever allows his true feelings to show. Instead, he bottles up all his problems and locks them away in his mental closet. (As the Warrior of Light, he is convinced that everyone only loves the perfect image of him that lacks all of the negative aspects—that they only love the Warrior of Light and not Dimitri.)Regardless of both halves, Dimitri is notably brutally honest, impulsive, stubborn, occasionally quick-tempered, and as ever stalwart. He is always brave and courageous, he will always do the right thing in accordance with his own moral compass. He is best described as ‘chaotic good’ in alignment. Dimitri is truthfully gullible, even if he will claim otherwise. He is incredibly kind-hearted and a bleeding heart, with a soft spot for the elderly and children both.Underneath it all, Dimitri is struggling with untreated mental illness, which is the explanation for many of his odd behaviors. In recent years, he has been practicing healthier coping mechanisms as well as relying on other people in his life that earnestly want to help him rather than bottling everything up. While Dimitri has let his guard down and allowed his shoulders to relax as he eases into an admixture of his personalities, he does still struggle with depressive episodes and can be rather codependent on others in order to keep himself going. He does recognize that his dependency on others for his own happiness is detrimental and unhealthy.
